Here is a collection of bass guitar strings sets filtered down to those that fit the Fender Mustang bass!  The Fender Mustang bass has a short scale length, but that doesn't mean that short scale strings will fit...  Whilst the Mustang’s scale length of 30” suggests it's a short scale bass, when taking into consideration the extra string needed to account for the Mustang's strings being anchored within the body, we can see that more often than not (depending on brand) it’s a medium scale set that tends to be the better option.
