A stalwart in the capo industry, the Shubb C1 has remained fundamentally and mechanically the same for over 40-years with only minor tweaks being made to finesse its functionality.  In fact, it’s so indispensable that I bet your favourite guitarist still owns and uses one!

The C1 utilises an over-centre locking mechanism which is undeniably sturdy, robust and reliable which provides unparalleled power, control, accuracy and consistency (also makes it idiot-proof).  Make both micro and macro tension adjustments with the thumb screw on the back and you can be sure to get the perfect grip and tuning time-after-time.

What’s changed?  Well, subtly the new aesthetic is sleek and elegant; no longer boxy and utilitarian, the C1 looks fabulous!  However, the obvious one is the exchange of the conical Delrin screw cap for a new roller design.  This simple upgrade (taken from the Shubb Deluxe) greatly reduces friction, which allows for a smoother action and significantly less wear.  The roller is also mounted differently which benefits from better geometry; simple put, it means the pressure needed to ‘lock/un-lock’ the capo is consistent across many more neck profiles, resulting in superior tuning.

If you haven’t got one already, it’s worth having one in your guitar case, just incase!

A word from SHUBB:
"The Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Capo is slightly curved and 2" across. This capo fits almost all acoustic steel-string and electric guitars.   The Original C-Series steel string capo features a patented locking action that provides an unrivalled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place and removes it just as quickly.   And the Shubb C-Series capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so the capo doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand's, so the Shubb Original C-Series Steel String Guitar Capo doesn't pull strings off centre. As a result, no retuning is necessary.   Since 1980 the Shubb capo has set the standard against which all others must be measured. It is the first choice ... often the only choice... of hundreds of thousands of musicians worldwide. Once the serious guitarist has discovered the Shubb, he'll never settle for anything less. What makes the Shubb capo so special? For one thing, its ingenious design: a patented locking action which provides an unrivalled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place... and removes it just as quickly. Original Shubb capo for Steel Strung acoustic/electric guitars. Shubb offer different models of capo to fit various shapes of fretboard."
