Elixir Nanoweb Stainless Steel 80 (.080") Bass Single String, Long Scale

This is an Elixir Nanoweb stainless steel bass guitar single string. Gauge: .080".
Standard long scale: string measures 36.5" / 93cm from the ball end to the start of the taper.

This stainless steel string provides bright, tight, and punchy bass tone with a little grit. The Nanoweb coating is tonally transparent but adds a smooth, polished feel and reduces finger noise.

Elixir’s flagship coating seals the entire string inside an impermeable barrier which keeps outs all moisture, oils, and dirt - the stuff that usually kills strings. This means the strings can last up to 3x longer - well, that’s the official line, however we have evidence of Elixir strings lasting well over a year! After substantial playing, and towards the end of their stated life you may start to see some fraying of the coating around the high-impact areas (picking position) but that’s pretty much cosmetic and the strings will keep going, and going, and going… !
