GHS Boomers

GHS Boomers are the longstanding and original "Power Strings".  Using GHS' Dynamite Alloy these strings pack a bold, POWERful, bright punch while being flexible, soft, and smooth to play thanks to the round core.  The tension is perfectly balanced across the set with the thinnest wound string (below .020w) having a hex core.  We find GHS Boomers have a defined, fizzy brightness in the top end with inherent round core big low-end and longevity.  Boooomers!

The thing about a big round core is that it has more mass than the regular (modern) hex core meaning these strings naturally have a bold, full, and powerful tone; they’re also super flexible and soft under finger!  GHS Boomers are the major round core electric guitar strings on the market.

GHS use their ‘Dynamite Alloy’ which is a specially formulated nickel-plated steel wrap wire made to add a bright punch and sizzle to the strings.  What’s also cool is that they’ve really thought about matching tension across the sets tactically utilising hex cores for the lightest strings to balance strength and gauge.

In my opinion, there tend to be - broadly speaking - two schools of electric guitar player: those who like their strings to feel soft and almost inconspicuous, and then those who want some push-back and a decent amount of tension and fight.  GHS Boomers are for the former with a springy, elastic feel and absolute smoothness while having heaps of POWER and bold tone!
