I don't play slap bass, only thumping deep notes so... Smooth on the fingers, much better than roundwounds. Richer fundamental notes, better than the roundwound tone IMO. I will always buy these great British strings.
Great quality strings at a reasonable price.
Sound great. Can whizz around much faster and mo string squeaks. Wish I'd ditched roundwounds years ago. And yes u can get a decent rock/Geddy tone from them. 35 quid vfm ? Subjective I guess but they are rumoured to have a longer life than rounds. I love them but may not suit everybody obviously.
a reasonable sound but a bit of a rough finish, the La Bella's are much smoother but of course they are more expensive, a good budget string
Nice feel to play and what a tone!
They are what they are a quality product at a decent price. If your looking for the sound flatwound strings provide these bad boys will serve you well.
A quality product living up to its description.
The company is very serious, cares about good customer service. Quick response, punctual in your service. It is a pleasure to deal with English people, they are very professional. Thanks.-
I love these strings, If you're not a slapping and popping type of player, these strings are for you (although serious funk is still possible) The lows and mids are really focussed, with an even sound on every string, so any note played on the G string sounds more punchy than it would on a round wound string. Flat wound strings change the feel of your Bass, making it more comfortable to play, with the added bonus of eliminating the "zingy" string noises when changing your hand position, or sliding into, or out of notes. All this makes them perfect for recording and live playing, and if you want even more punch out of your notes, try using a pick with a bit of palm muting. Rotosound are my personal favourite string manufacturer, and would recommend them to anyone.
A quality product - very smooth feel and lovely tone. I think I've found my new bass guitar strings of choice.
