The Blend knob lets you add as much or as little of the original signal as you like to the compressed sound, while the Mid/Full/High lets you choose the character of the blended signal. The Sustain knob determines how long your notes will ring out and the Attack control regulates how quickly the compressor reacts to your initial pick attack. Higher settings give you a late attack that lets your picking dynamics come through before the compression kicks in. And the Volume control does more than just let you match the output with your bypassed sound: you can also use it as a boost while taking advantage of the Blend and Mid/Full/High controls.   You can use the Vise Grip for everything from a simple dynamics adjustment - like a subtle or extreme increase in sustain, or a little extra clarity, body and volume for a clean solo - to more intense effects like a classic ‘squished funk’ rhythm scratch or a lo-fi, treble-heavy edge which is perfect for garage-band vibe. Then you can blend in just the right amount of the uncompressed signal and let the Mid/Full/High switch restore sparkle to the high end, fatten up the uncompressed signal for increased harmonic overtones, or simply make sure your effected sound remains consistent with your bypassed guitar tone.    Neither too much nor too little, this will allow your chords to ring and sustain naturally, just as Seymour intended. Adjust the Blend to taste to further increase transients and keep it going without ever sounding forced or artificial.   This will give you more than enough time to go away and have a bite: you'll certainly still be hearing this one. Great for chords and better for single notes, this flub-free, musical and silent sustain can seemingly go on forever..   Rev up your bridge single coil and get that picking hand working. Give your rhythmic chops and single-note melody lines a rounded edge that sounds great on the three treble strings and adds muscle to those disco flavored stops.   Especially effective when using humbuckers, try this to wildly change your tone from warm and full to scratchy and toppy at the press of a footswitch. Want to recreate that garage band feel? If you have a use for a skinny humbucker tone, try this little trick for starters.   You don't want any additional drive with a clean boost, and this setting gives you just that. Adjust the Volume knob to the output of your amp and balance the Blend to the tone of your guitar: your clean solos need never be buried again.     specifications

It’s pretty simple.  Seymour Duncan is to pickups what Pirelli is to car tyres…  Quite frankly no-one can rival the Seymour Duncan company for their design and drive to create the very best in guitar and bass pickups.  Testaments come from top guitarist across the world including Slash, Jeff Loomis, Gus G, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Stanley, Mark Holcomb, Synyster Gates, Wes Borland… who’ve chosen Duncan pickups for decades; also, not to forget the brands such as Schecter, ESP and Ibanez who regularly load their guitar with Duncan pickups straight out of the factory.

Enough with the testimonials, what is it that makes Seymour Duncan’s pickups so desirable?  Seymour, working at Fender Soundhouse in London, made a name for himself as the go-to guy if you wanted to get the most out of your guitar, setting up instruments for the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and of course Jeff Beck.  Along with his wife Cathy Duncan they started the company in ‘75 effectively rewiring other people’s pickups and fixing their electronics for as little as $17.50.

Now based in Santa Barbara CA, Seymour Duncan remains a family run company with Seymour and Cathy still at the wind grind (sorry, couldn’t help it) today.  Steeped in its rich history Seymour Duncan has grown into a guitar pickup powerhouse having helped legendary artists like Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and so many more achieve their signature tones.  The quality proven from pickup to pickup shows that of a company that has been perfecting its craft for over 37 years.

Although they may be well known for pickups Seymour Duncan are steadily increasing their effects pedal and gear range with new entries like the Andromeda delay which rival the Strymon Timeline and latest Powerstage power amps.  Duncan are working closely with their afore mentioned endless roster of high profile artists to create pedals that produce unique sounds you won't here anywhere else!
