Aquila Corde Armoniche produced all of their products in house in Vicenza, Italy. Striving to fortify the use of traditional string making techniques in the 21st Century, Aquila Corde began experimenting in 1994 with numerous different plastic and additive mixes pestering large fishing line companies to let them test in small quantities. It wasn’t until 1997 when the first Nylgut set of strings was born boasting the mechanical properties of plastic with the superior acoustical properties of gut. Aquila had also previously designed the ‘gut loading process’ that combines a metallic, copper powder with roped gut strings. Aquila Corde have more recently introduced the Silkgut, Bionylon and Thundergut that have all closed the gab between synthetics and natural gut.
