Seymour Duncan AHB1 Blackouts Active Humbucker Pickup Set

You may wish to request stock levels for this product if ordering multiple items

RRP £198.95. These 9-volt active humbuckers deliver a less compressed tone, with a more extended frequency response. In Duncan's efforts to solve the issues involved in achieving that goal, they discovered that some of the most popular active pickups have what they consider a design flaw in their circuit architecture. They use unbalanced inputs in a differential preamp. The problem is, an unbalanced differential preamp is not very effective at canceling hum. Seymour Duncan engineers figured out how to capture the tone that players want in an active design, but using balanced inputs. The result is that not only do these Seymour Duncan Blackouts active humbuckers have less hum than the competition, but they also have more lows, more highs, and more output. Simply put, the Blackouts have more tone than other active pickups. Players will notice the benefits of the reduced hum when they record, especially if they’re around computer monitors or fluorescent lighting. As for the benefits of having more tone, well those will be apparent everywhere. Blackouts are available in individual neck and bridge models, or as a 2-pickup set. All versions come with all necessary mounting hardware, including pots, jack, and a battery clip. Technical Info AHB-1 Blackout Neck Resonant Frequency: 750 Hz Average Output Voltage: 0.65 Volts RMS (1) Maximum Output Voltage: 2.60 Volts RMS (2) Noise: -97dBV Output Impedance: 1K Ohm

4 LOUD, Amazing but FIDDLY!

Had my japanese Jackson since '94 and never updgraded anything bar the strap-pins. Got these from from my Mrs via Santa (thank you StringsDirect). Spent a week trying to find out helpful hints on fitting them. Ended up having to bore out the wholes for Control knobs and input socket as the Seymour's use wider poles and fittings! Scary! Then I had to learn how to solder as (unlike EMG's) - the SD's come with all the parts and bits of colour coded wire... The wiring diagram didn't mention anything about the Earth wires my Jackson has (under pickups, behind Tremolo, into the springs.. so I ignored them and just followed SD's instructions. Was WELL worth the effort though.. not only do they sound as good as they look, but they have brought out a whole new meaning to the term clarity. You'll have to read as many reviews as you can find and learn to be careful with your fingers (i'm sloppy!) as they pick up EVERYTHING,... clearly and pound it into your amp LOUDLY! Did i mention they are LOUD? Happy Days! minus 1 star for not providing a Guitar Tech to fit them.. *! Warning !* Do not attempt to fit 'em if you're unsure... get a pro in! !
