I'm using these on a Strat and they sound great. Big, full and fat, just like the old days. I use standard tuning and occasionally drop down to Eb. <br/> <br/>Wish D'Addario would electroplate the plain strings in the EXL packs (for longer life). They do this with the plain strings in their 5-packs and it works very well. One point off for that.

Perfect for playing dropped C.....and up to usual D'Addario high standards. I still break them but thats just down to my cack-handed playing!

The D'Addario's are the best strings for the price. i play in c standard and if you're looking to down tune the .012-.054s are a good choice. if you want to go any lower than that you'll probably need a heavier gauge though. <br/> <br/>great for brutal metal!
