Shure SM58 Vocal Microphone

Legendary for its uncanny ability to withstand abuse that would destroy any other microphone, the Shure SM58 has not only helped to define the sound of rock vocals on stage, it's also been used as a hammer to build stages and gone on to perform flawlessly later at the gig. Using a club's house system? You'll be singing through an SM58. And in the studio? Daniel Lanois always uses the SM58 or Beta 58 on Bono's vocals.

The Shure SM58 Mic is world-renowned for its distinctive upper-midrange presence peak that ensures an intelligible, lively sound. Perfectly fits the hand, balanced for total comfort during long gigs. Frequency response is a smooth, vocal-tailored 50Hz-15kHz, and the price is a bargain considering its life expectancy.

Shure SM58 Mic Features:

 • The world standard for stage vocals

 • Distinctive upper-midrange presence

 • Perfectly balanced and comfortable in the hand

 • Smooth, vocal-tailored frequency response: 50Hz to 15kHz

5 A Legend for a Reason!

My SM58 has been used for home recording and live gigs, and it excels at both. It provides a superbly clear signal, with no noise. It will also withstand a hell of a battering on the road, and last many years. Everyone uses this mic, and there's a simple reason - its perfect!

Don't bother buying a cheap mic first and then working your way up to one of these. Save up and buy the SM58. Take a look on eBay to see how much these go for second-hand. If you decide to sell in the future youm will lose very little on the deal.

5 It Ain't The Industry Standard For Nothing
Screaming Dave
This is the industry standard vocal mic for a number of very good reasons. It sounds great, it's very resistant to feedback, handling noise is low and it'll stand up to a heck of a lot of punishment and still perform. I've had mine for years and it's still perfect. The bassist in my band has had his for 25 years!

Gibson Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, Sure SM58: they don't go on making stuff year in year out if it isn't pretty close to perfection!
