This pedal is pretty good, it sounds better than the distortion on my Marshall 100DFX. It gives a nice crunchy tone for play power chords. For lead guitar it's ok, just isn't the best.

this is the best distortion pedal i have ever used and can be used for every type of distorted sound. it is a must buy distortion pedal SO GO ON BUY IT!

NOW THIS IS A GREAT PEDAL!!! I didnt think this thing was wroking when i got it, but when i pressed down on the pedal WOW, blew me away. GREAT!

This fantastic little pedal has all the settings you'd expect from a stompbox (ie volume, tone and distortion) but the thing that makes this beauty stand out is its 'turbo' mode. The knob on the far right switches between mode 1 and mode 2. Mode 1 is basically the BOSS DS-1 (which alone is a pretty great thing), mode 2 whacks out this great biting distortion. Its basically two pedals in one and great for almost anything.

I wasn't expecting the DS-2 to be so great! I was worried I'd bought a pedal that would give me heavy metal sounds, but this is not the case. Whether its for grunge, punk, garage rock, blues of heavy metal, this pedal is fantastic. Its even great for getting those authentic creamy 70s tones.
<br>Highly recomended, this is a fantastic sounding hugely versatile pedal.

If your into metal, punk or infact any distorted guitar music-buy this pedal. The range of tones (more than 2000 tones if you use whole number divisons-more if you use between)and all of them are more than you'd expect from BOSS
