Great idea if you have a heavy bass and a whiplash injury (or bad back). In terms of overall comfort I'd recommend a comfort strap... especially for long rehearsals, but I was rather taken by the Fender strap that came with my Fender Jazz recently. At first the shoulder pad kept slipping down my back (one star off for that) but a bit of double sided tape soon sorted that out. It's worth noting that it seems the maximum width of strap it will take is two and a half inches..any wider and you may have a struggle getting it to fit.
