These strings have a tone and feel all of their own. Warm, solid, but clean and articulate - lovely feel, very easy to play even on long sessions. Last well, too. Thoroughly recommended!

good if u use a pick

these strings do have good tone. However I find that they have too much tention. For slap bass i like a looser string. I find that they hurt my fingures after a wile as well. I havent tried that many different strings yet but unlike some people i like the sound and feel of ernie ball strings.

I have used EXLs for a few years now and almost always recommend them to my customers. They last well and on my all maple bass they give a really solid driving bass sound that's hard to find in a lot of other strings I've tried.

Well made strings!

Best strings that I have ever put on my bass.Nickel plated so in my opinion they have a better feel to them than stainless strings.

there are good strings they lasted me about 2 months, i do a lot of live gigs and they held out fine (stayed in tune well too).
<br>
<br>the only thing that annoyed me about these strings was that i managed to snap the G string which has never happened before and also after that they started to sound a bit dull.
<br>
<br>all in all though they are good strings for the money but i play for about 3 hours a day so they would probably last most people longer than they did me.
<br>
<br>I'm going back to using exilir strings for now but haveing used many different makes of strings I would recommend these strings as the closest to be elixir strings and half the price (bargin!)

Highly recommended

These are the best strings for bass that I have come across yet. They have a warm fat tone that is tastefully bright and sit well in the track.

<br/>The feel is great. I used to use Rotosound SM66 in 40-100, and I was not quite convinced over these, as I use 45-105, I can now say they are great. Sure there is more tension, but isn't that a good thing? Makes playing a little harder, more to learn and no more annoying "banjo bass". Not only, but play them hard by the bridge pickup or where the pickup on a stingray would be, pick or fingers, and welcome to the boxing arena. There is an abundance of punch. The only thing I could want is maybe a little more bite, but all you need to do is put a little more mids up on the bass or amp and hey presto!

<br/>All in all, a great sting for ANY player. Be it jazz or punk these deliver.

String Breaker

I have a tendancy to play the bass fairly hard out, and string breakages have always been a problem that I've tried to deal with. Some sets would last a month, others only a few days, but the DAddadio EXL165s outlasted all of them. They also felt better to play, stayed in tune for longer, were easier to tune, and (most importantly) sounded better than any other string I've played.
