Reliable but makes tuning sharp

I have used this capo for about 20 years. It is very reliable. The draw-back is tuning. If you need perfect tuning then you need to retune after capo-ing. Our violinist used to complain about it as there wasn't time to retune in the middle of a set. I guess it's all about how important the gig is.

I bought two of these Kyser capo's in New York in 2000 and still use them but mainly for acoustic work. I find the spring action is too strong for the necks on my electrics (mainly telecasters), and makes them go sharp and out of tune. I prefer the Dunlop version as it's not so strong and keeps me in tune better.

Maybe it's just the way I play, but these are the only capos I have that don't send the guitar out of tune. I've had two or three in the past 18 years and would never use anything else. I used to have to import them, so it's nice to see them becoming more popular.

Best of them all

I got one for my 12 string and it's the best capo i've used by far. Very quick to use and no faffing about with screws or clips just keep it sitting on the headstock till you need it and clamp it on. Lovely

I swapped my jim dunlop trigger capo with a friend for one of these because the friend didn't kike it. it is quite fiddly to begin with. but, once you get to grips with it, its a great capo. nice tight action and easy to throw on and off and move around the neck.

close, but perhaps no cigar?

now its a great, easy, fast capo, but i personally think the "handle" makes the adjacent frets feel a bit claustrophobic. i'd recommend looking at the "jim dunlop trigger capo" which does the same thing but the handle covers the neck and not the fretboard. but please note this is my personal preference! you may not necessarily agree, and otherwise the kyser does it’s job without flaw.

A amazing capo

This has to be the best capo i have ever used. Its easy to put on, move and remove. Plus if you can work it in you can move it about whilst playing a brilliant capo... Buy one now !!!!!

For anybody requiring an ultra quick change over and perfect performance then look no further. Nothing can touch these babies - 100's of Nashville session aces can't be wrong!!

Naaaah!

I bought a 12 String and a six string electric Kyser Trigger Capo. The "six" is ok, usable but I dont like the forward facing trigger, I find it inhibiting. The twelve string capo? I wont be using it (anyone wanna buy it?). The spring is far too strong! It messes up the tuning and leaves a permanent indentation on the rubber facia. I've tried and tested bot capos now, I can't see much difference between the capo for the six string and the capo for the 12 string. The six string capo works fine on my Seagull 12 string acoustic. But I guess that's the problem of buying on spec, on line! I'll stick to my tried and tested Jim Dunlop trigger capo. And personally speaking, 100's of Nashville session aces ARE wrong!

Nice quick change

A decent quality capo that's quick to change, put on put off throw at the bass player whatever. Quite wide too so should fit a lot of guitars.
