Schaller Straplocks Nickel

Pair of Schaller Nickel Security Guitar and Bass Guitar Strap Lock. The lock mechanism attaches to your strap. You must use the Schaller strap button included. Pull the knob on the front of the lock and a plunger moves allowing the lock to slide around the Schaller button. Release the knob, the plunger springs back and into the center cavity of the Schaller button. Your strap ain't going nowhere now!

Economising on your strap pins is a bit like economising on your car tyres - you might save a few pence, but it may well cost you thousands. I put the best possible tyres on my car and I put Schaller straplocks on my guitars. I know that there are similr products avaiable out there, but I woulkd not risk it for the price of a pack of strings. Some of my Straplocks have been on two or three guitars as they cxome and go. One warning - the securing mechasmism on the strap side is only as good as the strap. I make my own in leather, but they need to be VERY tight - I use a small mole wrench to tighten the final nut, and you might consider a little Loctite.

I love these and have them fitted to all my guitars in various finishes. Some folks complain about price, but first of all, this is the cheapest you will get these actual Schaller strap locks (beware of cheap imitations) and secondly, what's £15 to save a guitar from getting damaged regardless of how much it's worth? If you don't have strap locks on your guitar, you are stupid. GET THESE!

I have just bought a Fender American Standard Strat (2003), so I bought Schaller copies from my dealer because he had ran out of the real ones. No use, wouldn't fit the pegs. I ordered nickel Schallers from you guys at 3:05 pm yesterday. They arrived at 9:45 am today (in Perth Scotland) I fitted them to the guitar in less than 5 mins,a perfect fit. Great service! Thanks very much! Neil

Fantastic product, you're strap is going nowhere with these bad boys! Already had the strap mounts on my Usa Telecaster so only needed the pull button top part but means I could put the spare mount on my '72 Custom Tele so happy days. At this price it's a must have and will give you total peace of mind when playing.

I wish I'd fitted these years ago. Nicely engineered. The only problem is that if like me, you like to leave your guitar standing upright in your armchair, the release button will make quite a dent in the fabric.
5 Best Freebie Ever!!

A pleasant surprise - I recently bought a Fender American Deluxe Telecaster and these came free! Had a slight problem in that one of the buttons was working itself loose, but I put a matchstick (split in half lengthwise) with some wood glue and the screw bit in tight again. I love these things. They also provided a free strap with heavy leather ends. The locks took those with a little coaxing with a spanner to get them tight and now it's rock solid. Plus speed wise, they are a real boost. They allow the strap to be removed completely in a couple of seconds. It's the best of both worlds - the strap is locked solid during performance but also comes off the guitar so easily. They also allow the strap to rotate at both points for an ease of movement not achieved by Grolsch washers! No tangled straps, no fighting with button holes, removable in seconds. A very smart, reliable design!

I have these fitted to my epiphone sg. they are great products that stop you from dropping your guitar! they rae very easy to fit, but i have found that sometimes the nuts come undone easily. that's the only fault.
5 Best money I ever spent. GET THEM NOW!!!
Jonno
After a close call with my strat I fitted a set of these. It was just a matter of unscrewing the fender ones and putting the new buttons on. Bit of a problem putting them on my strap as one end was a bit thick but brute force sorted that out. BTW a set of these was supposed to come with the guitar but they didn't. shame on you Fender.

All the other guys said it all here really.

I just wanted to add that I have 14 guitars and I've had trouble fitting these on only 5 of them ...

1) danelectro (has glued on buttons originally because of where they are positioned - on the back of the neck basically). I wouldn't count this.
2) A very old Tokai Telecaster - the screws work loose occasionally and for a while I had to keep tightening them. I've just used a tiny dab of PVA in the screw holes and it's cured it.
3) A Squier Cyclone - the original button screws were huge and the holes were too big. I plugged the hole with some thin slivers of wood and a blob of PVA. Fixed.
4) Variax - as above.
5) Vintage PRS copy - as above.

Some far eastern guitar builders use non-standard BIG screws for the strap buttons. Most of the time though you just unscrew the old one and put these straight on and forget about it.
4 Awsome straplocks!!!

I bought a pair of these after my strap broke and my guitar fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. Ever since i have attached these to my guitar i have had no problems. I would recommend you tightened the bolts every now and then, because they loosen on their own. I'd reccomend these for anyone. Plus pretty much every famous guitarist uses em'!!!
5 Best nine quid you'll ever spend

These are the mutt's nuts IMO, like all the best ideas simple in design and execution and a total bargain at £9 (slightly more, mind, if you need gold or whatever finish). After a near miss with my beloved 335, I now fit these as standard to every one of my guitars which will take them - though note that they are not suitable for acoustics with end jacks and the like. I'm still working on that one.

If you are Val Doonican and play on a stool, you are probably OK - apart from these WILD pullovers that is. Otherwise you need these before your axe bounces out of your hands some night, which will be bad for both your wallet and your street cred. Fender fit them to their better guitars as standard, and that's good enough for me.

Had to get the drilled to fit my guitar, but well worth it. I cherish my guitar and it makes sense to take proper care of it. Nothing clever! Just common sense!

Well you know what they do they stop your guitar from plumeting to the ground, you can clip straps on and off in seconds without trying to tear the leather on and off the strap buttons and ruining a nice strap. These thing are seriously great you can throw youe guitar around your head and these things won't let go... well worth the cash!

these are the best things to keep your strap on your guitar. i had those cheap dunlop things on, but these are 1000 times better. think to yourself, what would you rather do pay £10 for these or £200+ for a new guitar??? these are really quick to fit as well.

Ok so your guitar won't fall off. But I fitted some to a hefty stingray bass and to cut a long story short they caused some horrible resonances that killed four of five places on the fret board. Im going to hit the supermarket tomorrow and get a couple of bottles of Grolsch

A damaged guitar at the age of sixteen promted me to buy my first set of these over 20 years ago, and I've never had a guitar without them since. I can't understand why all manufacturers don't fit them as standard. Fender do.

If you're just going to stand there on the spot doing nothing apart from playing, then you probably don't need these. But if you move about on stage, the last thing you want is your guitar falling off the strap. The rubber off grolsch bottle does work... but no-where near as reliable as proper straplocks.

You see me with my black Telecaster on TV? When I dropped it in the middle of a song? If the tutors REALLY knew their stuff they would have told me what professionals do and I'd have had these on my guitar so the whole thing would have never happened.
5 Easy to fit and they don't come off

Have retrofitted these on nearly all my guitars now. They stick out a bit, which some may not like, but they are very easy to fit to the guitar: only tricky bit is hacking away at the strap so that the lock will fit it properly. Once on they don't come off unless you pull the end to release the lock. Then all you need to worry about is your strap snapping.

I have just got someof these for my guitar, and I think that they're excellent. I have never damaged a guitar by it falling off my neck, but these give me greater confidence that I never will. The large washer that attaches to the strap is also very handy if you have to make your own hole to attach it to the guitar. I was reluctant to do that before, in case the leather frayed, but the straplocks take away that worry. Buy some!
