Barber Electronics Trifecta Fuzz

This one is for classic fuzz freaks and newcomers alike. The Barber Trifecta employs a three way toggle switch to seamlessly navigate three classic vintage fuzz circuits producing a plethora of tones from trippy to squishy, through heavy and beyond. The newly minted Barber exclusive "Sludge" control allows players to easily dial in the Trifecta to work perfectly with all types of pickups (humbuckers, single coils even active!). The Sludge control is a pre-fuzz bass control circuit to allow you to adjust exactly how much bass gets pushed through the fuzz circuit. The Trifecta's variable tone control is also a push/pull type switch which lets you go from classic scooped to “boutique” strong fundamental flat style EQ.
The Trifecta’s classic three fuzz circuits are based off of the triangle style pi sound, the Jumbo Bender style and the Suppa Bender style with our boutique mods/magic and superior build quality. These three classic circuits all were very close except for clipping sections (fuzzy stuff) being omitted or added, so we figured, why not make it a Trippy Fuzz party and give the players all three for the price of one!
Finally your vintage Fuzz sounds have TOO MUCH CONTROL! (in a good way)
Powered by standard 9 volt - tip supplies, or battery (not included).

This has to be the most versatile fuzz pedal on the market.... Three way selector switch for different tone and with the "sludge" control as well as the "fuzz" you can achieve a brilliant mixture of warmth and bite as well as recreating traditional BM & FF sounds

A great fuzz

This pedal provides the all fuzz tones I remember from 25+ years ago. Stinging bite or warm and sustaining to monstrously fat, always responsive and quite unlike modern metal-style distortions or tube screamer overdrives.
It's a fuzz, not a distortion. In fact it's 3 fuzzes, the "tri" being the original 3-control "triangle" knob pattern Big Muff. The Super-bender and Jumbo-bender were Vox fuzzes. All date from the late 60s and had very similar circuits indeed, but didn't sound quite the same as each other.
The Trifecta is vastly higher quality in terms of components and construction than the originals, and is true bypass (effect circuit entirely disconnected when off - the originals sucked tone massively).
At low fuzz settings you get a soft-edged distortion, at higher settings huge amounts of warm fuzzed sustain without the harshness of most distortion pedals.
Experiment with settings and you're likely to find several you like.
Two cautions. Just like the originals, if you run a Crybaby into it you get all sorts of howls, resonances and oscillations that shift as you move the way pedal. This is THE fuzzed wah sound as used by Hendrix and many others. More timid souls seem to prefer to put the fuzz before the wah, which gives a tamer setup that's quite synth-like.
It also needs to be near the front of the fx chain. Input/output buffers, like the ones built into Boss and Ibanez pedals for example, alter the fuzz tone for the worse (60s fuzzes expect to see the raw guitar pickups, not a polite, full-frequency low-impedance buffer).
Overall, the most essential psychedelic tool in a very nicely put-together hand-built package easily as well built as some "boutique" fx stuff I have for a very reasonable price. What's more, it sings.
