D'Addario's J81 strings are designed for use with Irish bouzoukis of various scales. The unwound strings are made from plain steel and the wound strings arre phopshor bronze, acclaimed worldwide for its great, long-lasting tone. Phosphor Bronze was introduced to string making by D'Addario in 1974 and has become synonymous with warm acoustic tone. J81 - 11, 11, 16, 16, 28, 28, 40, 40.

Bouzouki Strings.

Hello Ian,
Pity there are no sets with ball ends eh ?
Just re-strung a certain Gutar-bouzouki with Rotosoud/Ernie ball singles - 42- 26.15.11 just as fitted by a certain Sussex Luthier !
BTW - the scale length on the Guizuki / boutar is 650 - 25.5"
Think I'll stick with these !

I get a great ring from these on a long scale (670mm) instrument. Shorter scale instruments would probably sound better with J72 or even J76 Mandola set.

Would not buy again. Bass course makes tapewound strings sound bright!
