5 Korg MA-30 Metronome

A great value metronome that is easy to use and well made. Volume is more than adequate for practicing and I find the flip-out stand on the back very useful. The display is clear and easy to read. The icing on the cake would be if Korg provided a few different sounds for the beep, but at this price really can't complain.
5 Great & small!

It's beeps at the right time which is pretty much what you buy a metronome to do! It's very easy to use, has a volume control for the 'tick', and it's pocket sized so fits easily in a guitar bag or case. It's recommended by numerous guitar teachers and is fairly inexpensive. The only downside is that the 'tick' is an electronic beep, I would have preferred a more traditional tick but it is electronic after all!
4 Good value

Good value, cheap as chips but all of the important features are there like tap and time signatures. My only criticim is like everyone else's - I sometimes wish the click wasn't just a bleep. But again that a is minor quibble all told. A nice little gizmo and very compact. Seems sturdy enough. All you really need although I would love to be well healed enough to justify a Dr Beat!

I needed metronome and when i went to my local music shop, thy had many to choose from. However, I tried them all out, and although this one was the cheapest, it was definately the best value! I does just as much as the Seiko Intellitouch ones, and is a lot easier to use and smaller. However, I found that when you set it to do triplets etc, it doesnt accent the notes so u cant tell wether or not u have come to a new bar or not. The beap is a note rather than a gd ol' click, and if u play somthing, it can clash with it and turn major chords into diminished! It's a good sturdy metronome, small, easy to use and great value for money. I highly recomend it if u want a basic do-it-all metronome.
3 Good but not perfect

The good bits, very small and slim, very reasonable set of timing options (triplets etc), reasonably solid. Very reasonable price compared to the likes of the Roland Dr Beat, though to be fair some of these are aimed at a different market. <br> <br> <br>The bad bits; No choice of sound for beat, meaning that the only tone available has a very definite pitch and can get very annoying if it clashes with the notes you are playing. Calib tone is much softer than the beat itself. Changing the battery exposes all the innards of the machine. Clip to stand it upright is very flimsy - the DB12 option of offering a hole for a pencil seems to be a better option. <br> <br>I'd probably buy it again, its cheap, but then I have a drum machine for the more complex stuff, and for the times when the pitch gets too annoying.
5 Superb

5 Superb value for money

A fantastic piece of kit for the money. It's quite small and thin, mine lives on my music stand. It's been knocked off loads of times. I just pick it up, put the cover back on and it just keeps on playing as if nothing has happened. I would prefer a more solid sounding "click", but that really is a very minor gripe. At this price it's a real bargain.
5 in a word, brilliant

this little beauty really helped me keep my pace. i've used other more expensive devices, all worked well but this was a cut above. the tap function was especially usefull, and the unit was also incredibly accurate. although i own quite a number of korg instruments from tuners to metronomes, i have not given this a 5 just coz i like korg. it really is a wonderful device, and easily the most cost effective. thank you once again korg.
5 successor to excellent MA-20, invaluable

Having lost my MA-20, which hads already been ny far the most useful musical tool I have used in the last 2 years, I purchased the MA 30. It's so easy to start music at the right tempo, but far harder to work out how much you've deviated 10mins later, or check a tempo you've tried to begin cold. This metronome's tap function where you tap in your tempo and it tells you what this equates to has vastly improved my own tempo consistency. I have also found it very useful to have the sound calibration - hearing an A at 440 or 442 is much easier than playing and pushing up and down until a tuner tells you you've arrived. The addition of a Baroque pitch feature has improved this model further over its predeccessor. And lastly price!! a fraction of the price charched by other manufacturers for the same features - an all-round must-have piece of equipment.
