5 Finally managed to break one...

OK after several months I've finally managed to break one of these picks - one of the thin red ones. It didn't break in use though, I saw the fracture lines described by 'Maruku' and I thought I'd see how weak it had made the pick. Not very as it turned out as I still had to really make an effort to snap it.
5 I don't think they break either...

I have these picks in black, red and blue and I have to say I am puzzled by the way 'Joe' and 'David A' describe them. I've not broken a single pick yet and I simply can't see any evidence of the tip being separate to the body of the pick. Like 'JG' I feel I must surely have overplayed them by now but I just can't make myself throw them away.
5 They don't break? Oh yes they do!

These picks are a great idea, and Planet Waves stuff is usually good, but these picks do develop fracture lines around the tip and then break. Sad but true - the thin ones are very nice to use for acoustic playing, but don't last long. It's true what Joe says above, the tip is not integral to the pick and ends up breaking away. I just had one do it after only two songs.
5 Grippy

At last a pick I can keep hold of. Most impressed!
5 They do NOT break!!

Don't be put off by the review that states these things break........let me tell you, I have over-played two of the heavy picks now (like for 5 months!!) and they are well worn on all sides and the rubber grip is almost non-existent - but no cracks and no breaks. They still sound great - that's why I can't bring myself to throw them away! These things are simply awesome and all I shall ever use from here on after trying pretty much every 'hard' pick there is - the JD stubby and jazz were good, but they have since been relegated to my loft box of 'guitar spares'. Trust me - buy a pack and try them - I promise you that you will never go back to what you used before. And thanks to you guys a strings direct...you sent me these as a freebie when I bought my usual XL 10s.......had it not been for you I probably would never have tried them. Cheers guys :-)
2 Not great

Despite what everyone says, and Simo there is very forgiving, these picks aren't that great. The grip is ok but the area for the rubber has been engraved and the rubber doesn't really grip as nicely till they're worn in a bit by which point they've broken. The actual point of the pick is attached to the body by two very thin little tabs of plastic which means they develop fracture lines further and further out then they snap. I've had two packs of the medium size 91mm for two months and five have broken already, snapped the ends clean off. I don't think I play excessively hard these are just poorly designed in terms of how the important part of the pick is connected very weakly to the bulk of the pick. It can only mean trouble. I wont buy any more that's for sure. They're ok picks but they're really nothing special esp. not at £3.50 for 5.
4 Worth a try...

Yeah, nice and grippy, and a clean action on the strings. They seem durable too. Not the cheapest, but we're talking pennies anyway...

5 Darn good picks
Maruku
I cant argue with the surepick and use them all the time now. I love the grip which is excellent for fast playing and they dont wear easily like other pics ive used in past. The only downside is these picks tend to crack either side of the logo after a while but mine lasted 3 months before this happened and they took some serious bashing.

Great picks. No chance of slipping and fantastic for fast licks.
