just the job

had to buy a new tuner when my tu12 broke after years of abuse. for less than 15 quid this is perfect for daily use. for gigs i ues my line 6 floorboard as the tu80 is not so good in the dark. for all my students i will use this every time. the metronome is a bit of a joke - way too quiet. if you are looking for a good tuner this is the one. i could not justify paying nearly 90 quid on a tu12 when this is as good - if not better

The gripes mentioned by others are quite true: the batteries do rattle, the metronome isn't loud enough, if used inline it is silly that the metronome can't be played through the amp. HOWEVER. I have several of this style of tuner and this Boss is definately the best in the price bracket. It settles to note quickest, the LCD needle wavers around least and it is the least susceptible to interference from background noise. SO: if you are looking for a tuner for under £20 comparative road-testing concludes that this is the one. A no-brainer.

Fantastic gadget, same price as a separate tuner and metronome so its well worth the asking price. My only gripe is that the click on the metronome is quite quiet and cannot be amplified, so you'll need to play at a low volume to practise with it.

Amazing Value

Much more accurate than the "5-LEDs" type tuners that come built into multiFX units, and also gives a more accurate and stable reading than most "dedicated" hand-held tuners I have used in the past too. The acu-pitch "beep" helps a lot. I was able to adjust the intonation of my guitars WAY faster and more accurately than before, using this. It's slim size is convenient, it has a metronome built-in (an essential item for guitarists who want to improve their playing speed and accuracy), it comes with batteries, and it has a "true" bypass output so it can remain in-line between guitar and amp/FX at all times if required - without affecting tone (well so they claim at least, and it's believable given that Boss floor pedals are reknowned for this). All this for 15 quid?! This is fantastic value!

<br/>Only downside, the metronome volume is quiet, and cannot be piped to your amp through the TU-80's output jack ie. it's not really usable while playing your guitar through an amp - but in spite of that, this is a no-brainer purchase at 15 quid!

Great Stuff

Trying to keep 3 cellos and a cornet in tune used to be an onerous job. Not any more! This has to be the best piece of kit I have invested in, great value for money and easy to use. Next day delivery was an added bonus. The rattling battery can be solved with a little protective packaging.

Great Value

Top little bit of kit, metronome a little quiet but what do you want for £15? Standard line-in & mic tuning both really simple to master although chromatic tuning is a little trickier. Pleasingly it takes up very little space in the front pocket of my gig bag along with all the other junk. Ordered at 1pm on Friday, through the letterbox on Saturday morning - top banana.

This great tuner is brilliant. It's everything you want in an extremly small size. It features a metronome, a versitile one at that as you can change everything you want to on it. A tuner, obviously, which is extremly accurate and easy to use. This tuner includes flats, chormatic, guitar (7 string also) and bass (6 string... I think. I don't play bass) tunings. All this for 15 pounds. Haven't you bought it already?

Superb Value!!!

Totall agree with the last reviewer!

<br>The batteries do rattle a bit which can be annoying but the features of this piece of kit are brilliant for £15! Another minor issue is that there is no volume for the metronome which is very quiet.
<br>
<br>But a normal tuner is about the same price so why not get one with a metronome as well?!!

Nice little piece of kit

Bought this one to replace the horrible Kwiktune I got with my guitar (only been playing for a year). Very easy to use, so much more accurate (you can sing in it too and then realise how bad your voice is). Metronome is a good idea too. Very quick delivery...

Awesome Value Tuner from BOSS, Bang on!

I really have no complaints about this little gem at all. The acu-pitch feature works well (if perhaps a little slowly only acknowledging the note is correct after it has been ringing out for a second or so)the digital 'analogue' dial is legible and the metronome is a handy extra that seems to work well. All for fifteen quid!!
<br>Only two minor quibbles, the batteries (2 x AA, handy) rattle a little within their compartment and there is no back light on the display (to be fair you could get away with using only the sharp & flat led's in the dark as both light up when you've hit the correct pitch). But come on, after spending only £15 how much of a problem is that?
