Martin LUXE Kovar Nickel-Cobalt 13-56 Acoustic Guitar Strings

Nickel-Cobalt acoustic guitar strings?! Yes, it does sound unusual. These materials are synonymous with electric guitar however, as with their legendary Retro Monel strings, Martin is bucking the modern acoustic guitar trend with these Luxe Kovar strings.

The strings are composed of Superior Performance (SP) hex core and Kovar nickel-cobalt alloy wrap wire. This blend has a natural corrosion resistance which means the strings and their tone will live longer than the bronzes. They’re all nickel-coloured too which looks really cool on an acoustic guitar - in my opinion!

Tonally, they have a greater, richer low-mid fullness than 80/20 bronze with less aggressive highs. This puts them neatly between phosphor and 80/20 bronze.

Expect a good, playable tension and great intonation à la Martin SP range thanks to the SP core.
